V.    Old business
a)   Weekly membership check-in
Diane is concerned that we are not following through on our commitments to check in with members during this challenging time.
b)   Decision on building use documents
Final decisions on the documents will be tabled for later.
c)   Vision and visioning
The board members discussed and agreed upon a process to develop a cohesive vision for our fellowship.
VI.    New business
a)   Set reopening date
The UUA has recommended that congregations remain closed until 2021. Because of our large parking lot, we are considering holding events outdoors, particularly for our younger members aged 18-29.
b)   Mission statement
The board members discussed and agreed upon a process to develop a cohesive mission statement for our fellowship.
c)   Set priorities for the year
Diane submitted her priorities for 2020 and this congregation: “I have a lot of things I want to work on for the fellowship growing the membership, growing adult religious education, establishing a path for spiritual maturity for members, creating a relationship with the UUA, the region and the DFA, creating a public presence in Lafayette, as well as stewardship of fellowship resources.  I really want to be busy working for the fellowship.” The Board reviewed these priorities and approved them.

VII.    Adjournment
a)   Diane Kirksey adjourned the meeting at 7:03 pm.
Minutes submitted by: Emily Carline, Secretary

Action Items for June 2020:
·       Vision and Actionable Items: Each board member should write up their vision for the congregation, and come up with actionable items for implementation. Submit this to Emily Carline through email (emilycarline@gmail.com), which will be compiled into a Google Document and revisited in the July board meeting.
·       Mission Statement: Each board member should answer the following prompts for a proposed mission statement. Submit this to Emily Carline through email (emilycarline@gmail.com), which will be compiled into a Google Document and revisited in the July board meeting.
1.     What can we do that no other church/religion in Lafayette can do?
2.     What are we good at?
3.     What do our members and community need?
·       Building Use Documents: All board members should read the proposed building use documents submitted by Emily Carline and make notes with any suggested changes.

  1. Under priorities for the year: The board saw them in the agenda, but I don't know if they reviewed them. We didn't talk about them so we didn't approve them with a vote. I don't think they have to be approved. I'll check roberts rules of order to see if they should be included in the minutes.
