I. Call to order
a) Hunter Miller called to order the executive committee meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lafayette at 6:04 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 via Zoom.
II. Roll call
a) The following persons were present: Emily Carline, Bill Edwards, Hunter Miller, Chris Menard, Bruce Snow, Judi Hamilton, Scott Ferguson and Mike Waldon.
III. Approval of minutes from last meeting
a) Minutes from August 2020 were approved by Bruce Snow and seconded by Scott Ferguson. The motion carried.
IV. Treasurer’s report, September 2020

V. Old business
a) Hunter Miller is working on a final updated version of our mission statement. If anyone has suggestions or would like to help, please contact Hunter at president@uulala.org.
VI. New business
a) Discuss a plan for disaster relief to help those affected by Hurricane Laura.
1. Collection at Southern Urology building on Rue Louis.
2. Doctor Roblis, office across the street
3. DSA Amazon wishlist for hurricane efforts – megan roland. Make sure to choose her address from the menu.
4. We will promote these on our social media and within the congregation.
b) Discuss involvement with local civil leaders in regards to the current police brutality issue.
1. Chris messaged Kathy hurst – she will contact someone to speak to our group
2. Jamal taylor – the village ; president of st landry parish teacher’s association
3. Christie green – head of indivisible Acadiana ; religious scholar ; guest speaker?
c) Voter postcards – mail on October FIFTEENTH not 26 because of mail issues
d) New ordinance to stand within 3 feet of roadway
1. Lawsuit by ACLU – we should join the lawsuit as a fellowship
e) Voter registration drive
i) October 5 in person ; 13 online register
ii) Closer to that may want to coordinate efforts – Remington? Rosewood assisted living? SLCC? Near the end of September…
iii) Facebook page can do a drive
f) Weather is cooling off …
i) Awning for women’s conferece – scott’s
ii) Picnic table
iii) Still zoom for people who aren’t comfortable yet
iv) Tracfone for data plan??
g) Morris for doing a service?
VII. Adjournment
a) Hunter Miller adjourned the meeting at 6:37 pm.
