Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

Wednesday, December 9, 2020

I. Call to order

a)   Hunter Miller called to order the executive committee meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lafayette at 6:08 pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 via Zoom.

II. Roll call

a)   The following persons were present: Bill Edwards, Hunter Miller, Bruce Snow, Scott Ferguson, Judi Hamilton, Emily Carline, Mary Guirard, Mike Waldon.

III. Treasurer’s report, December 2020

a)   Checking: $10,038.61

b)   Bruce has switched our website host from Go Daddy to InMotion.

c)   We are down a little bit on pledges, but our expenses are below expectations, so we are doing okay.

d)   Hunter Miller moved to approve this Treasurer’s report, seconded by Emily Carline. The motion carried.

IV. Old business

a)   Holiday event for December

i)       It will be a virtual sing along on zoom (everyone must be muted)

ii)      Scott will be in charge of slide presentation

iii)    Live music will be played by Scott, or in collaboration with Bruce

iv)    Diane may give a presentation on her Braver Angels endeavor

v)      Date set for Christmas Eve at 6:00 PM

V. New business

a)   Proposed 2021 Budget:

i)       Bruce made a motion to approve the above proposed budget. Seconded by Emily Carline. The motion carried.

b)   Donation for December

i)       Hunter has suggested that we make another large donation for the holidays, similar to the ditty bags for the homeless

ii)      Possible recipients: Civil servants? Healthcare workers (night shift)? DSA Free Store in Fightingville (provides items for homeless and others in need)

iii)    Discussion tabled, and we will talk about it with the congregation on this upcoming Sunday

c)   Focus for 2021

i)       More outdoor visits and services where we can get together but still be safe

ii)      Helping build community between our members

iii)    Game nights on Zoom, movie nights, etc.

d)   Getting new sermons

i)       Mary volunteered to contact potential speakers
